Frequently Asked Questions
This is dependent on the number of people that will be under the tent at any given time and what they will be doing. Banquet Seating (people sitting at tables) and Auditorium Seating (people sitting in chairs, in rows like in a theater) are listed next to the sizes of tents. Adding a dance floor, DJ/Band, buffet tables, gift tables, etc. will most likely require the next size (or possibly two sizes) up. Use the Space Planner on our website to help you determine the size of tent you will need.

Pole Tents have perimeter side-poles and also center-poles going down the center of the tent. In 80′-wide and 100′-wide Pole Tents there are 2 sets of center-poles (twin pole) down the middle. In 20′, 30′, 40′ and 60′-wide tents there is only 1 set of center-poles. Pole Tents use ratchet straps that extend to stakes or concrete anchors that are 5-8 feet out from each side pole. Pole Tents must be staked into grass/asphalt or anchored into concrete. Water barrels are not an option on this tent. Lights and fans can be mounted to the center-poles and/or the perimeter-poles. Center-poles and side-poles can be draped to render a more elegant look. Sidewalls can be installed so that the tent can be heated or air-conditioned. Minimal install/removal labor cost makes this tent a great value. Pole Tents have elegant sweeping curves, which makes them a very attractive option for weddings, parties and gatherings that have plenty of space. Most of our Pole Tents (except 40′-wide Pole Tents) are engineered with a wind rating of 72 mph.
Frame Tents only have perimeter (side-poles) and no center-poles. This is a good tent for areas of limited space or where a center pole is not acceptable. Frame Tents can be staked or anchored with water barrels, or a combination of both. This tent can be used for custom installations over multi-level areas and over swimming pools (speak to your salesperson about custom installations, extra costs may apply). The framework in the ceiling gives the user more options for hanging and supporting light weight decorations, lighting fixtures, fans, and fabric draping. The entire ceiling can be lined with a tent liner to give that dreamy look. Side-poles can also be draped. Sidewalls can be installed so that the tent can be heated or air-conditioned. The increase in installation labor makes this tent more expensive to rent than a Pole Tent. A Frame Tent is a versatile tent option for almost any type of event. Frame tents are not engineered for wind ratings.
Structure Tents have taller perimeter legs that are spaced further apart, no center poles, and a higher ceiling than a Pole or Frame Tent. A Structure Tent can be staked, anchored into concrete or anchored with concrete blocks. The rafters and beams are much heavier and can support more weight than any other type of tent. This tent gives the user more options for hanging heavier decorations, lighting, audio/video fixtures, fans and extensive fabric draping. The Structure Tent has tighter fitting sections and walls, which give the user a more sealed tent when heating and air-conditioning. This tent has the highest wind and storm ratings, which make it ideal for long term installations such as construction sites and renovation projects. Although, no matter what type of tent you have, always evacuate a tent in adverse weather. This tent can be fully draped from ceiling to floor for extensive decorating. The Structure Tent also provides wider openings and taller ceilings for events such as car shows or concerts. The increased cost in purchasing and increased labor for installation make this tent more expensive to rent than a Pole Tent or Frame Tent. A Structure Tent is an excellent option for installations that demand more performance from the tent. We have Structure Tents ranging in widths from 20′ to 100′ and lengths as much as 200′ plus.
Our charges are the same for 1-day or 7-days as a large part of tent pricing is the labor that is involved in setting up a tent and then cleaning it when it is returned. Additional days/weeks/months are priced at a discount (please see price list for details).
1. Most cities/townships require a tent permit – call your city hall to inquire about this requirement and what you need to get this done. Generally, this takes up to 4 weeks to accomplish, so start early! Our staff can apply for, and if approved, acquire the permit for an additional cost. Charges are determined by city. Please contact our office for the permit cost in your city.
2. DIGS Test – call your utility company to perform a DIGS Test 1 week prior to us installing your tent to ensure that our 36” long stakes do not hit any utility lines.
3. If you have underground sprinklers, septic, etc., you must mark the lines with string or flags and point this out to our installers. We cannot see what is under the surface of the ground and take no responsibility for any damage to subsurface utilities/lines.
4. Clear the area. Please ensure the area in which you want the tent installed is completely free of all obstructions prior to our installers arriving.
Are the tents weatherproof?
Under normal weather conditions, tents provide a dry haven for outdoor events. Tents are temporary structures and ARE NOT intended to be occupied during lightning or high winds – evacuate to a permanent structure during inclement severe weather.
Pole Tents: Pole Tent installations require 10 feet greater than the width and 10 feet greater than the length of the selected tent. For example, if you want to rent a 30×60 Pole Tent, you should have an unobstructed space of 40×70. A Pole Tent needs a clear, relatively flat area to install. No trees or fixtures can be inside the space prior to install. Any overhead fixtures lower than 30 feet (power lines, awnings, etc.) should be checked for clearance by a tent professional prior to installation.
Frame Tents: Frame Tent installations require 5-feet greater than the width and 5-feet greater than the length of the selected tent. If your space has multiple levels, uneven surfaces, or fixtures inside the tent space, you should schedule a professional from our office to inspect the site prior to install. Any overhead fixtures lower than 30 feet (power lines, awnings, etc.) should also be checked for clearance by a tent professional prior to installation.

Although we have several tents of every size, it is best if you reserve your tent as early as possible to ensure the size you want is available and that you have plenty of time to get required permits/testing accomplished.
When do you set the tent up?
As a general rule, we like to put tents up three to four days prior to your event and take them down the next business day. This allows you plenty of time to decorate and relax! We can also install and remove the same day. Some same day services may cost additional, depending on the circumstances. Please contact our office with details and we will be glad to provide pricing info!
Yes!
Yes! Please do not use anything that will get next to the white tent top and possibly cause a color transfer (i.e. crepe paper, balloons, signs, etc.). Color transfers may result in required tent repair or possible replacement, which is the responsibility of the renter. If you have any questions, please send us written notice (e.g. email) prior to doing anything.
We routinely set Pole, Frame and Structure Tents on concrete. If you want us to drill and anchor into the concrete please add the appropriate anchor charge noted in the price list.
Pole Tents require drilling into the concrete and use of concrete anchors where we attach eye bolts (instead of stakes) to attach our ratchet straps.
Frame Tents can be anchored with concrete anchors (like Pole Tents) or by the use of barrels which alleviates the need to drill (additional charge per barrel).
Structure Tents can be drilled and anchored into the concrete or they can be anchored with concrete blocks, both of which alleviate the need to drill (additional charge per block).
Yes! We are happy to come to your place and survey the area. There is a $75 charge for this service if your venue is located within the Metroplex. If your venue is located outside the Metroplex, please call for pricing. Once your tent is reserved with us, that $75 will be credited towards your final cost!
Sides are not included in the price of our tents. We have several styles of sides to include: Solid, Cathedral Window, Clear, and Mesh. Please see our website for current pricing of all sides.
You can always have our team install the sidewalls with the tent, use the enclosed space to decorate, and then remove the walls yourself before the event. You can also have our installers leave the walls on-site and install them yourself in case of adverse weather. The walls take a short time to install or remove yourself, and we would be happy to explain how to do this, if needed.
NOTE: Sidewalls will “billow” or “flap” in the wind especially on Pole and Frame Tents. If a tight clean seal is important then it is recommended you choose a Structure Tent as the sidewalls are actually built into the tent, which greatly minimizes “billowing” and “flapping”.
